Has it really been a week already? YES!, that means it’s time for even more new products. Check out the products for this week.

SeeedStudio KIT101E1P Rainbow Cube Kit- RGB 4X4X4

Looking for a fun and exciting project? Check out the Seeedstudio Rainbow Cube Kit it’s a 3D RGB LED Cube that contains 64 8mm RGB LEDs arranged in a 4 x 4 x 4 matrix. It can be used to create many beautiful visual effects with a programmable Rainbowduino. The Rainbow Cube comes with an built in 3.3V / 1 Amp LDO, so it can work independently. A XBee compatible socket is also included. You need some basic soldering skills to make this kit.


Need a Function Generator? Just in the Velleman HPG1 A complete 1MHz function generator with sweep function in a compact pocket sized package for testing on the go. Easy to use on screen menu lets you set output voltage or frequency and select between three waveforms.

VELLEMAN BH341USB 4xAA Battery Holder

We already carry a lot of battery holders that hold 2 AA batteries and 2 AAA batteries, but this one packs 4 AA batteries has a switch, cover and a USB port for the output. I’ve used these to power USB products or just in projects. It’s also nice to just have one laying around.


April 19-21 is a special weekend for robotics enthusiasts – it’s the 2012 VEX Robotics World Championship! From junior high and high school, to college and beyond, this Southern California event offers the world’s best robotics teams and fans to congregate, celebrate their accomplishments, and compete with and against each other.

New Product Monday!

It’s Monday, and that means we get to talk about new products. There’s some cool stuff for this week, so check out the products below.LiPO Rider Pro

First up is the New Seeedstudio LiPo Rider Pro. It offers a new way to power your project with battery charge management. The LiPo Rider Pro is affordable and extremely easy to use. No programming is required; simply plug it in and it works. The internal IC charger handles all the power flow between various components. The Pro edition now gives a you higher load output to 5 Volts over the Original LiPo Rider.

Thumb Joystick

You can probably find a million cool uses for this new product a Thumb Joystick, very similar to the one found in Sony PlayStation2 controllers. Directional movements are simply two potentiometers – one for each axis. Pots are ~10k each. This joystick also has a select button that is actuated when the joystick is pressed down.

Biometric sensors

We now carry three new Biometric Sensors. MQ-3 for Alcohol (CH), MQ-7 for carbon monoxide (CO), and MQ-6 for propane and butane gas sensing.

If soldering tight pitch iPod connectors is too difficult, this breakout board will help! PodBreakout brings all 30 pins of the iPod connector out to nice 0.1″ spaced holes.

We now have stock of the New released SeeedStudio DSO Quad. This is a pocket-sized oscilloscope with 4 channels and a nice 3″ color LCD screen for common electronic engineering tasks. It’s based on ARM cortex M3 (STM32F103VCT6) 32 bits platform, providing 72MS/s sampling rate with integrated FPGA and high speed ADC. It comes with a rechargeable battery and probes. It even has 2MB of internal memory for storing waveforms. The DSO Quad is also open source so you can download new firmware to access additional features.
